Black Country Heritage Lodge No. 9702
What better way to celebrate our 10th anniversary than invite our dear ladies to sit with us in the Lodge Room at our December meeting, after closing the Lodge. Our ladies have been asking us for some time if they could see the Black Country Demonstration Team in action . Since this is based upon Masonic ritual, it presented something of a challenge. We therefore demonstrated a Lodge at Work in the Black Country as it might have been, long before Freemasonry had ever been thought of. The atmosphere of the Lodge was greatly enhanced by our ladies laughter (and contributions, especially Bro. Claire and Chris on sound effects).. As the photos clearly show, everyone entered into the spirit of the occasion.
Celebrations continued downstairs, when ninety of us were seated at the Festive Board to enjoy a traditional Christmas menu.
Ladies In The Lodge Room To Celebrate Our 10th Anniversary
ENTERING INTO THE FESTIVE SPIRIT
Entertainment was provided by the choir of the local Wesleyan Church whose wonderful singing of carols and Christmas songs soon brought the true spirit of Christmas to this memorable occasion.
To round off the evening their followed the usual competition for the brother wearing the most
colourful festive Christmas Tie, judged by a panel of Ladies. What started off as an orderly line of gentlemen, soon became a fiercely competitive parade around the room, with poses that would have graced any beauty parade.
All in all as summed up by our W.M. David Griffin, an evening of fine company and good fun which is what Freemasonry is all about.
