Black Country Heritage Lodge No. 9702
They had to bring extra chairs into the
Lodge room to cope with the 70 plus brethren attending this special meeting.
We were honoured with the presence of the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Colin Denne and were delighted to receive V.W.Bro Kevin Chawner, Past Prov. Grand Master who was of course our Consecrating Officer in November 1999.
Our ceremony of initiation was, as described by our visiting brethren, carried out to perfection. What was particularly special about this occasion was that the officers from Inner Guard up to W.M., are all themselves, former initiates of the Lodge. It was also encouraging to see our junior brethren participating in the charge to the initiate, one of whom was only initiated himself at our November meeting.
10th Anniversary Goes Well
At the festive board, W.Bro Colin Denne remarked how Staffordshire’s newest Lodge is setting such a fine example for the good of freemasonry.
Oops!
Our irrepressible brother, Eddie Lamb, wasted no time challenging a brother who was
wearing the Black Country Heritage Lodge tie and whom he did not recognise. “Are
you a member of this Lodge”? He enquired. “No” replied the brother. “Are you associated
with this Lodge”? “Sort of” replied the brother. “Then why are you wearing our tie”?
Demanded Bro Eddie Lamb. “Because they gave it to me when I consecrated the Lodge”
replied V.W. Bro. Kevin Chawner, with a twinkle in his eye.
Needless to say Bro Eddie found himself paying a fine at the festive board.
