Lodge Banners are usually embroidered or painted on silk, velvet or materials of a similar nature. Our banner is representative of the industry around us. The backcloth is of the same strongly woven cotton as used in overalls worn by workmen, the artwork has been crafted out of metals, namely gold and silver wire, representing the golden hearts of the Black Country folk and the silver threads of a strong community spirit.
( In our Lodge room, the base upon which the Banner stands, is made from industrial pipework. It is supported on a barge pole. The Staffordshire knot which completes it, has been crafted from a piece of industrial chain).
