A well loved Provincial leader demonstrated his other leadership skills when he paraded his ‘Dad’s Army’ before a delighted audience at Wilson Keyes Court on Friday 9th October 2009. R.W. Bro. Kevin Chawner entered into the spirit of the occasion at a ‘Forties Night’ laid on by members of the Black Country Heritage Lodge Demonstration Team and their ladies.
Forties Night Wilson Keyes Court - October 2009
IN THE MOOD FOR MUSIC
Residents were entertained with a full programme of live music and songs from the era, comedy from Aynuk ‘n’ Ayli and a wartime quiz. R.W.Bro. Kevin said that following a Black Country evening laid on in the previous year, there had been numerous requests from residents of Wilson Keyes Court, for the Team and their ladies to return. The forties evening had once again proved to be a most successful evening, well enjoyed by residents.
WE’LL MEET AGAIN
Rt W.Bro Kevin Chawner concluded that although the Black Country Heritage Lodge, Demonstration Team was originally formed upon his suggestion, he never expected to find himself being drawn into it. This was the second occasion where this had occurred and he suspected it might not be the last. He is, however, always able to draw comfort from the fact that Bro Frank never fails to find a way of writing Port Vale into the script.
